A Work Shop with a Difference

Join award winning master wood carver, Elton Braithwaite, as he personally guides each participant in the ancient art of shaping wood. Students will use a composite wood product, MDF, and crafting tools to complete a project in bas relief to bring home at the end of the session.

Under careful supervision, participants will learn the value of cooperation, skill, patience and responsibility while being introduced to a folkway of a different culture. Held on-site at the Species of Earth Gallery in Granby, class size is limited to 8 students per session: ages 10 to 18.

Each session will be one week Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The cost of the class is $250 per session. Materials and tools will be provided.

A deposit with the completed application will be required to hold your spot.

Mr Braithwaite has conducted in-school programs and workshops throughout the region. He is a professional artist, recognized by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, with works in several galleries and private and corporate collections.
